Alpine is a fast-moving D2C brand – We build, we don't play it safe.. For years, we've been carving out a global position on marketplaces, turning Amazon and bol into high-performing, 8-digit revenue channels. We work directly with platform teams, move fast when we spot opportunities, and hold ourselves to a standard that most companies only talk about in slides.
Now we're looking for the person who will own it all.
About the role: Global Head of Marketplaces
This isn't a "manage the day-to-day" kind of job. As our Global Head of Marketplaces, you will shape and drive our global marketplace strategy and own the full P&L.
First and foremost, you lead a team of internal and external specialists across Advertising, Content & Commerce and Operations. You translate big commercial ambitions into sharp quarterly trading plans. And you make sure the wider organization moves to the same beat, using your team as the engine to get there. When Prime Day hits, we're not scrambling. We're ready.
You'll report directly to our CDO. Global scope. Real ownership. Budget responsibility included.
What you’ll own
Take full P&L responsibility for our global marketplace business, focusing on revenue, profit and market share.
Shape and own the growth strategy and execution roadmap across all marketplaces worldwide: the global marketplaces plan as well as all individual market plans.
Lead, build, and inspire the marketplace team of 7 people, and build a team culture defined by energy, ownership and accountability.
Execute the annual marketplace strategy across all markets (Amazon, bol, TikTok Shop, and beyond), translating it into concrete trading plans per quarter and month, built around tent-pole events (Prime Days, BFCM), seasonality and category opportunities.
Monitor and steer business performance per market and category — and when something's underperforming, you don't wait. You act.
Drive the Integrated Business Planning process: optimize the triangle Sales, Growth Marketing, and Operations.
Steer demand planning and volume forecasting in lockstep with Operations, so we're always in stock and never sitting on dead inventory.

Job requirements
What we’re looking for
You come to this role through one of two paths:
Path A — Amazon/Marketplace specialist
5+ years as a Head of Marketplaces or similar, with deep mastery of Amazon end-to-end
A track record with a strong spike in advertising and content
Path B — FMCG or consumer brand commercial lead
Experience as a digital commerce lead at an FMCG company (think Unilever, P&G, Nestlé, L'Oréal, Kraft Heinz, Reckitt or similar) or a sizeable consumer brand
You know what rigorous commercial planning looks like and want to apply that sharpness in a setting with real autonomy
(Limited hands-on Amazon experience is fine — we'll provide expert coaching to get you there)
Whichever path you're on, you also bring this
You can go deep and love diving into the details AND you can operate at strategic level.
You're a commercially sharp, result focused, data-driven operator who can zoom out to set strategy and zoom in to unblock execution.
You understand the language of marketplaces: trading calendars, in-stock rates, contribution margin, Account Health Rating, forecasting — this is your daily vocabulary.
You thrive at the intersection of multiple functions — you bring people along without needing the authority to command them.
You make fast, high-quality decisions under ambiguity. You don't need perfect information to act.
Excellent command of English (written and verbal). Dutch is a plus but not required.

We offer:
A competitive salary, with a range of € 80.000 to € 125.000 on a yearly basis (FT, including performance-based bonus and holiday pay). This range reflects the two entry paths above, deep Amazon expertise (Path A) tends to land higher on the scale, while FMCG commercial leads ramping up on marketplaces (Path B) typically start lower, with coaching support to grow into the role.
