Job description

JOIN ALPINE HEARING PROTECTION AND HELP BUILD THE #1 HEARING PROTECTION BRAND WORLDWIDE

Alpine is the ultimate destination to skyrocket your career in data and digital commerce. We are one of the front runners globally in marketplaces, with a fast-growing multi-million business across Amazon, our own webshop in more than 12 countries, and international retail channels. With our mission to become the global leader in hearing protection, we are building a data-driven engine that turns raw numbers into strategic decisions.

More than a billion people are at risk of hearing damage. Alpine is on a mission to protect their hearing, and you can help make that happen at scale. If tens of thousands of orders every month, a multi-million euro marketing budget, and years of carefully built data get you excited, you are in the right place. We have done the hard work of collecting and storing it all in our data warehouse. Now it is time to make it actually work for us.

Job requirements

About the role: Data, AI, & Automation Specialist

As our Data & Automation Specialist, you sit at the intersection of marketplaces, webshop, and marketing data. Our engineering partners handle the deeper infrastructure work. Your job is what comes next: turning that data into products, analyses, and insights that actually change how we operate.

We are not looking for someone to build old-fashioned dashboards. We want someone who builds smart data products in modern tools, runs real analysis, and bring (Gen) AI from idea to production. The ideas are there. What we need is someone who ships.

You will work closely with our marketplaces, webshop, and growth teams, and report directly to our Head of Growth. Your core mission: move us from data to insights, faster than we thought possible.

Responsibilities

Insights & analysis

  • Go beyond reporting: spot patterns, surface opportunities, and challenge assumptions with data

  • Support growth decisions with sharp analysis across our marketplace, webshop, and paid media channels

  • Translate statistical findings into clear, business-friendly stories that the team can act on without a data background

Data products & modern BI

  • Design intelligent data products, not static reports. Think interactive exploration, live metrics in modern BI tools that give our marketplaces, webshop, and marketing teams real answers without needing to ask you every time

  • Own our core KPI framework and keep it evolving as the business grows

Data science & modelling

  • Build or own predictive models and forecasts that actually drive decisions: think demand forecasting, MMMs, or incrementality testing

  • Run customer segmentation and clustering analyses to help our marketing team understand who our buyers are and how to reach more of them

  • Experiment with AI and LLM-driven approaches to push the boundaries of what our data can do but then also taking AI from experiment to production: prototype fast, validate with the team, and ship things that actually work in the real world

Automation

  • Automate repetitive data tasks across the digital team so we spend more time on growth and less on manual work

  • Build and maintain Python-based scripts and tools that integrate with our stack and scale with the business

Data infrastructure & collaboration

  • Work alongside our external engineering experts to connect data from Amazon, Shopify, ad platforms, and marketing tools into a clean, usable layer

  • Contribute to data modelling in dbt and BigQuery so the whole team is working from a single, trusted source of truth

  • Spot and resolve data quality issues before they travel downstream into analyses or decisions

Your impact

  • Directly contribute to Alpine's ambition to triple the business in 5 years

  • Help establish Alpine as the global #1 in hearing protection

  • Be the person who connects the dots across channels, and make our whole team smarter in the process

  • Protect the hearing of millions worldwide and make a real difference in people's lives

What do we expect from you?

  • At least 2 years of data experience in a professional environment, whether in-house or agency-side. Bonus if you've worked with eCommerce, marketplace, or digital marketing data

  • Solid Python skills: you write clean, production-ready code and know your way around data libraries

  • Comfortable working with data infrastructure: you understand how pipelines and data models work, can contribute in dbt and BigQuery, and know how to collaborate with engineers without needing to own the full stack yourself

  • Experience building data products in modern BI tools. Looker, Omni, Lightdash, or Metabase: if you have worked in at least one of these, we want to hear about it

  • Hands-on data science experience: you have built predictive models or forecasts, worked with statistical methods, and understand when to use them and when not to

  • You are genuinely excited about (Gen) AI and you have worked with LLMs and related automation tools (e.g., Zapier, N8N, etc.) hands-on, whether that is building agents, integrating APIs, or shipping an actual tool that people use

  • You are curious, proactive, and comfortable working across teams. You spot a problem, you fix it

  • Available 32-40 hours per week, with 3 days in our Utrecht office in case of full-time employment

  • Excellent command of English

We are located at a nice office on the Europalaan in Utrecht. More information about our office can be found via this link.
